Doing Philosophy

For students who are thinking about studying philosophy or have just embarked upon a philosophy degree, guidance and advice on what the discipline entails or how to get the most from your degree will be useful. A particularly rich resource for learning about how to do philosophy (including tips for how to read, discuss, and write philosophy) is both the book Doing Philosophy (edited by Danielle Lamb, David Mossley, George MacDonald Ross and Clare Saunders; Continuum) and its companion website, which has a number of free pdfs to download. The free material includes practice Q&As on reading and analysing philosophy, pointers to online and other resources, advice on preparing for tutorials and seminars, and sample exam papers.
