The BPA invites applications for individuals for its prize for mentoring.
In no more than 750 words, applications should explain:
- the mentoring that has been carried out to help and support staff or postdocs, but not PhD or other students, mentoring of whom is covered by other BPA prizes;
- the positive outcomes of that mentoring.
Mentorship activities may include supporting mentees in seeking promotion, being excellent teachers, applying for grants, developing the impact of their research, providing feedback on research and strategizing about publications. Successful applications are likely to demonstrate how their mentoring led to positive change in the careers of mentees and contain quotations of endorsement from mentees. Applications will be judged not solely on the quantity of mentoring, but on the quality.
