The BPA invites applications for up to three annual prizes for individuals for outstanding research in academic philosophy:
- Lifetime Achievement Research Prize in Philosophy;
- Mid-Career Research Prize in Philosophy;
- Early Career Research Prize in Philosophy.
In no more than 750 words, a nominator should outline:
- the research to be considered
- the originality or innovatuion, significance, and rigour of the research on which the application is based.
Eligibility for the senior and early career prizes will be determined by the candidate’s career length since the award of their PhD: 0 – 10 years for the early career prize, 10 – 25 years for the mid-career prize, and more that 25 years for the life-time achievement award. The length of any career is calculated as the time since the award of the PhD minus any career breaks. Applications for these awards should outline how the candidate meets the eligibility criteria for the award.
